Veteran

I remember with fondness the little red poppies my mother used to buy to support the veterans and attach to the buttonholes of our coats. Growing up during the Vietnam War era, my parents made sure I was aware of the sacrifices the men and women in our armed forces made for our freedoms.

Take some time today and plan a few activities to share with your children about the men and women serving our country today. Veteran's Day is a time to remember the people, not the politics, of war.
