A Little Perseverance Never Hurt Anyone

When you get four kids and two dogs together, you aren't working with the easiest of subject matter.

A while back I wanted to take a picture with all my "kids" in it.  As you will see, it wasn't as easy as just pointing and shooting.   God must answer prayers, forces must align, some kind of nirvana must be reached,  or maybe it's just luck.

I have concluded that the key is perseverance!

Ut Oh! Mama forgot the flash.
It’s still not bright enough, for those natural lighting conditions, this particular morning.

Take Two

I still neglected to pop up the flash; though everyone’s looking.
Now might be the time to move the playpen out of the way.

Take Three

There’s that flash.
Summer can you not show your butt, please?

Take Four

Summer. Darn it! Would you please cooperate.
Here's were I started praying to God to intervene.

Take Five

Seriously, Summer?!

Take Six

Victory! Thank you Summer.
Also, when I took it I knew that everyone was looking.
I think I may have even squealed and giggled!

Take Seven

Go on, Summer; get, go lay down!

These pictures were taken with my Fuji Finepix S5000.  I originally posted this set of Out Takes on November 7th, 2007, in response to all the comments about a shot that I used for Wordless Wednesday.

I have resurrected this post to show that it's not always easy to take pictures of real, live, moving subjects. It takes time, patience, good light (or a flash), and plenty of cooperation!

At the time I titled the picture "Sit and Stay".  After a little cropping and framing, this was the end result:

I know the pain. I tried to do one child this weekend and only one out of the 60 that I took came out. And he had that stupid "cheese" face.

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
