I've started using ziploc bags to help me stay organized when I pack. I use one for all my boys' socks and another for my three year old's underwear. It makes finding these things in the suitcase so much easier. I imagine using one for a little girl's barrettes and ribbons would be useful too. I've also heard of using one ziploc for each complete outfit. When I unpack after the trip is over, the bags go in the suitcase ready to be used for the next trip.

I do that too! I also started using ziplocs for separating toiletries after the first time a bottle of shampoo opened all over my suitcase.
I was thinking EXPENSIVE until you mentioned saving them for next time – in the suitcase. I'm slow, but that's a smart idea.
I did this on our trip to Israel (with 18 month old triplets) and the El Al security who inspected our bags said they were one of the best bags he's seen. It helps a lot!
My mom would do this for each individual outfit when we went to camp as kids. It would keep everything easy to access, clean, and safe from bugs!
When my daughter (1.5 at the time) went to "grandma camp", I did everything in ziploc bags! That's the way to go for little kid clothes especially!
