One of my favorite fashion inventions of the past few years is the sweater coat. They just get better, cuter, and more useful every year! I never have a fall jacket – I just always use a few sweater coats. Why not? That way you get to have more than one look to help you fight the cold! My favorite thing about sweater coats is that they are so versatile. They can be outerwear, they can be part of your outfit, or they can make your outfit. Here are some fabulous sweater coats that can keep you warm AND make you look fabulous this fall and winter!
This short-sleeve sweater coat by Elle at Kohl's is one of my very favorite pieces of my wardrobe. I wore it a TON this fall. Just put it over a long-sleeve tee and instantly dress up and add warmth to a casual look. The ruched sleeves andront pockets are stylish details that help this sweater coat stand out.
Next is this elegant dip-dyed sweater coat from Sears. Yes, I said Sears. Let me tell you a secret: I LOVE SEARS. I have shopped there for several years, as they have some very cute clothes and I can afford them! When I was still working "outside the home" I got many of my stylish work outfits there. And now, they have brought me this beautiful sweater coat. It is extremely soft, and its asymmetry and way it hangs is so elegant. It is really like a lovely, warm shawl with sleeves. I wear it to dress up jeans, or with a nice skirt or pants. It's really pretty on!
This red cable-knit sweater coat red cable-knit sweater coat by Covington is also from Sears. Because the picture they have of it online doesn't do it justice, you lucky readers, you get to see a picture of me wearing it. I know, get excited.
Never has the door to my office looked so elegant. But anyways, this is a great sweater coat. It's so warm, you can wear it as your winter coat. It was 27 degrees when I went out this morning and I wore this as my outerwear and was perfectly cozy. The bell sleeves and the turtleneck also give this a dressy look. This is a great topper for your holiday outfits!
Lastly, I will share with you a sweater coat that I don't yet own but would very much like to (hint, hint, to the hubs!)
This great heathered sweater coat from Kohl's is just what I need in my winter wardrobe! I love the shawl collar, and the neckline is very flattering. Plus, it is space-dyed for a unique look. And I really don't have a sweater coat in anything close to that color, so, it's a definite need for me.

I love my sweater coat too. I am actually wearing it right now. I love your red one. Thanks for the tip on Kohls having short sleeve ones. Can you guess where I will be the day after Thanksgiving….
