@Jay – Thanks for respectfully sharing your perspective, but I’ll have to agree with Lid on this one. The web is a big place, and most big bloggers genuinely want to help others grow. Their success depends on our success, in a sense! I’ve chatted one-on-one with a number of these bloggers, and they’ve been nothing but respectful, friendly, and genuine.

Jay, I have to respectfully disagree on this one. My experience has always been successful bloggers want others to succeed; so much so that they end up writing about their knowledge – to share with all.

Conversely, the bloggers that think that there are in fact ‘secrets’ tend to be less successful; they do not like to share.

And isn’t that what it’s all about? Sharing to make the Web a better place?

Thanks for the exhaustive list — my wife forwarded the URL to me.

While I respect all these people dispensing advice about blogging, I am also somewhat skeptical of many self-proclaimed gurus on the web. Some of them have no traffic to speak of or monthly revenue that they count in three digits.

The reality is that bloggers that have massive traffic never speak about how they got there because the last thing they want is people knowing their tricks and competing with them. I attract 20,000 visitors everyday on my various blogs but I have never written about how to become a great blogger or how to make money on the web.

So when I need advice from the pros, I try to ask them personally.

Thanks for this info. I am a new blogger (one week) and will definitely read these. I would give you some “Stumbelupon” love but don’t have a clue what that is! Hopefully these articles will tell me.
