Bring on the Summer Parties-Part 1

I love Summer and my favorite time to entertain is during the Summer.  Summer parties are fun to host because it's easy add in fun, casual touches that encourage people to RELAX.  This post is the first of two about Summer parties.  I'll begin with the plates and glasses.  YES, plates and glasses.  Changing out your party routine with some fun party glasses and plates can really bring an air of fun to your fiesta.

Drink Umbrellas
Drink umbrellas are a CHEAP, EASY way to let your guests know that it's time to relax and enjoy the party.  Adults get a kick out of drink umbrellas and my kids and friends L-O-V-E it when I put them in drinks for some Summer fun.

Add Some Bling with Paper Plates
It's Summer…use paper plates.  Even if you're a stickler about not using paper plates, Summer parties scream for paper plates.   What could be more fun than a beach ball paper plate?  I'm sure Martha Stewart doesn't use paper plates but she has a staff to clean up after her Summer BBQ parties…you probably don't. Paper doesn't have to be boring..there are lots of cool and hip paper plate combos that are great.

Tikiglasses

Grown-Ups Like Fun Glasses Too
Summer is an excuse to let the "inner child" that's been cooped up all year OUT of the house and into the sun.  I love to give my adult guests some crazy "Tiki Glasses" for their drinks.   And while the "Gods of Good Taste" might wince, a few Pink Flamingo glasses are a hoot.  Summer parties are a license to be just a little tacky at times…which is why it's so much fun to host.

By justing having some fun glasses and plates for your guests, you are sending them a message of Summer F-U-N.  Little things can mean a lot and you don't have to spend a fortune.  The second part of my "Bring on the Summer Parties" will be ready later this week.

I love drink umbrellas! LOL. I just have the habit of opening and closing it as what you do on a normal one.

And yes, it does give you a feel of a beach/pool party. Oh how I miss summer! :)

I'm having a big pool party next month! Love the idea of drink umbrellas. Never thought about how much something small like that can add to the fun. Thanks!
