I learned on a standard shift. Paw-Paw just turned me alose to go around the block. When I got back Maw-Maw was fussing at him for letting me go by myself. He just said: "She's got to learn, don't she?" Indeed I did! Because someone trusted me! That's what we have to do when we think we can't do. They climbed up to the top of a small peak... and she passed out, hitting her chin. He had to drive back to town, in her stick shift, without knowing how to drive it, and take her to the hospital to get stitches. Yep, that guy was a keeper. They've now been married for five years and are expecting their first child. Love their dating story! I have a friend who went on a third date with a guy hiking.
