Card Games as Education

Do your kids love playing card games? Ever thought about making your own?

education Card Games as Education

My children love playing card games – and it is a great way to sneak in some homeschooling!

Make your own cards using an old pack of cards – just stick new pictures onto the front of them.

Here are some ideas.

  • Top Trumps – a wonderful way to encourage the children to investigate statistics. Try a geography version with statistics about each state.
  • Happy Families – great for showing life cycles and animal development
  • Snap – great for the little ones. Add a word as well as a picture to help develop reading skills.
  • Pelmanism – the memory game. Use a picture and corresponding foreign language word. Or how about using countries and their flags?

Games can be educational, but making your own really helps to tailor them to your own curriculum – and your own child.
