I love pumpkins. I love anything made with pumpkin and I even own a dorky sweater with pumpkins on it. In third grade I was a pumpkin (no, seriously I have photos to prove it).
However, in our family we don't celebrate Halloween, so there's no jack-o-lanterns (I'm more prudish than you think) and so I'm always looking for different ways to decorate with them. I ran across this idea for Celestial Pumpkins a few years ago in a Martha Stewart magazine and have loved it ever since. They're so simple to make and they really look gorgeous, I especially like mixing the orange and white pumpkins.
The best part is they don't require fire, which with my two curious little guys is a very good thing. You simply cut a hole in the bottom and insert a short strand of Christmas lights.
I love to sit on the front porch with a hot cup of pumpkin creme tea and a warm shawl, completely surrounded by them; it's almost surreal.
Here are some of my other favorite pumpkin creations:
I'd love to have this to wear.
Can you imagine sleeping in this?
How about having one of these in your shower?

Oh, those are gorgeous. Simple and beautiful all at the same time. And they surely last much longer than a carved pumpkin!
I love pumpkin carving, but my arthritis is really acting up this year and I haven't carved a single pumpkin for the front porch.
