Collecting: Guardian Cookware

2d38_1

When my mother in law cooks her delicious meals she uses her old fashioned Guardian cookware. It sparks memories of childhood and the dinners we had with my aunt who owned a complete set. At that time it meant nothing to me, but now I get absolutely giddy if I spot a piece in a thrift shop or yard sale. Easily recognizable by it's domed lids and hammered appearance, you can't miss it.

This roaster is the only piece I own and I use it constantly. Everything I cook in it turns out great! Like this family favorite, pot roast with carrots and potatoes.  If your lucky enough to run across a piece of this cookware, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

  1. Pretty! I started to collect hammered aluminum pieces years ago for display, rather than cooking. Aluminum scares me.

Hey, Debra! I'm pretty sure my mom has one of these and that's what she always used to fry our homemade french fries in. I can see it now. I'm sure it's still in her cabinets, I'll have to dig it out when I go home to visit.
