Craft Supplies on Hand

I want to know what kinds of things you're storing away, just waiting to be used in a crafty project. Check all the boxes that apply. If you don't see something on the list that's one of your must have supplies, leave a comment letting us know what we should go out and get. (If only my craft closet looked like this one!)

I would love it if my craft area looked even 1/2 as neat as that picture! Some other things we have in our craft cabinet are stencils, paint, markers, all sorts of paper, foam beads, glitter, egg cartons and other odds and ends that we've recycled into craft materials.

  2. I've got everything but felt. I'll have to get some of that…

I also have beads (foam and plastic), scrap paper, ribbon bits, and fabric odds and ends.

  3. We have a lot of everything – I actually save toilet paper, paper towel and gift rap rolls, shoe boxes and egg cartons. We also have glitter, stickers, clay, glue dots, stencils, many different kinds of paint, all kinds of paper, silkies or craypas, colored pencils, chalks, and pastels. I also like to hit the dollar store for school supplies like star and heart cut outs (I use these for lunch box notes a lot). My new favorite is shrinky dink paper – we color on it with sharpies and you can make all sorts of great stuff with it. I also like self laminating sheets for saving artwork or for other projects – my son likes to save leaves so we put them in between the laminating sheet and call it art

  4. I'm in love with the craft closet pictured above!

So, I guess since I have at least 1/2 of the things listed above (and some other supplies, I'm sure), I should get going on some crafty projects with my daughter!

  5. Our favorites lately are googly eyes, pom poms, and paint (yay for the dollar store).

  6. paint and construction paper, I have a ton of it for the kids to use.

My craft area is organized enough to find everything, but doesn't look anything like that! I don't think they have enough supplies in the pic, that must be why it is so daggum clean! HA :o )

  7. My kids love to use construction paper and paper punches. We also use a lot of fun foam.

  8. Oh my! My list? Have you seen my craft room? It used to be called my crap room until I finally got it organized. There are pictures on my blog… please go and check it out.. I think I have 3 posts about it! lol

Oh, I so wish we had a closet! Right now we have a craft-dining room table! :)

Now if I only had that storage system to put it all in. LOL!

  11. ribbon
    googly eyes
    buttons
    glitter glue
    construction paper
    foam paint brushes
    paint

  12. wow, as another mom who really needs to clean and organize her craft room that closet is impressive but in no way would fit all the "Stuff" I have aquired ;)
I have everything on the list (but I'm out of felt) and keep on hand a lot of stickers, fun foam, an assortment of paper, glue sticks, chip board, recycled materials such as various boxes, magazines, card board (like the backing from notebooks), toilet paper rolls, etc…

My problem is (other than organization) is my craft room has slowly become the kids play room and they had a "Party" of sorts… consisting of throwing a large container of fun foam letters into the air and yelling "Surprise"!! Creative kids, Yippee!!! Thanks for the fun post!

  13. Must have:

cheap ribbons from the dollar bin. My daughter loves to cut ribbon and glue it to paper.

    stickers

  14. Googly eyes and alphabet stickers are a must-haves in our household!

  15. We also have paint – LOTS of paint – watercolors, watercolor crayons, temperas, acrylics, dot-a-dots, and fingerpaints.

  16. I have fabric scraps and lots of paper scraps, too.

  17. We also have paint; spray, acrylic, water, fabric etc.
Glitter, white glue, tacky glue, ribbon, left over cardboard, construction paper, colored pencils, and many other things that were not on teh list.

  18. The picture makes me jealous. My supplies are stashed in different rooms.

Oh, dear…I have all of it! I've said that I was a craft supply addict, and I suppose that this is evidence enough :)
We keep it all in a big steelcase cabinet (like old office furniture). I'd say that it's pretty organized, but that picture is really something to aspire to!

We also love pompoms, beads with large holes, elastic cord, and old calendars/poscards/mailers/catalogs to cut up and collage with.

  20. Oh, if only….what a beautifully organized craft area!
I have so much more than what's on your list! Where to start?
Scrapbook paper, mat board, Styrofoam balls, buttons, stickers, cord, markers……….you name it. I would LOVE to be so organized!

  21. I've got everything above, except the felt…I also have foam sheets (a bat costume left over), pompoms, foam letters and shapes, plastic cord, ribbon, buttons, feathers and wood curls (love the dollar store!), seashells and interesting rocks (picked up on many trips), googly eyes, embroidery floss and hoops, fabric, self-stick gems, colored noodles, craft paper, tempera and water color paints, stamps and ink pads, packing materials (including a fruit tray I dug out of the box bin at BJ's tonight), chalk, Mod Podge, paint brushes of many types, stickers, glitter, glitter glue, a box full of edging scissors…

Needless to say my craft closet looks *nothing* like the one pictured!! A lot of that list is left over from my teaching days, but my 5 year old sure enjoys it!!

  22. Dear Santa, I would LOVE to have that craft closet for Christmas!

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
