Do your Actions and Intentions Agree?

J0427843 Congruence is defined by Mirriam Webster as the quality or state of agreeing, coinciding, or being congruent. Congruence, or agreement, of your daily actions and your intentions are very important. Wouldn't life be easy if we were all judged on our intentions alone? I am in the process with two of my children to teach them that intentions are fine and good, but they better take action to back them up. Results count, intentions, sadly, do not.

Decide what your visions for your marriage are.

What are your intentions with your husband? Some biggies are keeping your marriage fun, supportive and that you and your spouse grow together. Maybe your priority is lengthening your husband's life? Every marriage is different and we all have individual needs, weaknesses and strengths. Only you can know for sure exactly where the priorities and needs are.

Keep your actions and intentions congruent.

It doesn't matter what you say or intend about your marriage. What matters are your daily actions. Actions will always speak louder than words. Keep an observant eye on your interactions with your husband this week. At the end of the week, see if there are any areas that your actions can be modified to help you achieve your goals for your marriage.
