Even when money is tight, I think it's important to make sure that time is carved out of every busy schedule to make for date night with your special someone. Here are some ideas for date night without spending a lot of money:

- Go To a Dollar Movie – you can find your local dollar theater listings through local.com
- Pack a Picnic – instead of going to an expensive restaurant, pack up some yummy food and bring a bottle of wine along and have a romantic dinner for two at a local park.
- Stay in – take the kids to a sitter's house and have a quiet evening alone at home – rent a movie from Redbox, cook together in the kitchen while playing music. Just having time alone will make it feel like a date without leaving the house.
- Get Coffee – it doesn't have to be fancy to be fun. Just stopping by a big bookstore that serves coffee and enjoying a few warm drinks while chatting and reading magazines can be fun.
- Go for ice cream – at only a couple dollars each, an ice cream and a stroll is a great way to get in a little treat and do some reconnecting.
What ideas do you have for enjoying time with your significant other without spending a ton of money? I would love to hear more suggestions in the comments!

Great ideas Emily!
There was a bookstore that sold new/used books and had a coffee bar in it. That was our favorite store and my husband and I would go get coffee and browse the books. Sometimes we also bought a couple of used books (the used book prices would range from $.45 – $5.95).
Then we moved and haven't found another store like it. It combined everything we love…good coffee, books, and cheap books.
The employees also knew us and if they saw us without our kiddos instantly knew we were on a date. Gosh I miss that place!
We like to go to local concerts in the park that are free. Of course, finding a sitter is still the biggest challenge to date night!
Those are some good ideas! We haven't had a date night in a while – guess it's time!
we love walking downtown in the "artsy district" and go into all of the boutiques. they are so fun and inspiring. we may get a coffee or ice cream, but the rest is free. it's so fun to dream together.
