It's nearly Thanksgiving! I love this time of year. Family, friends and food. What's not to love? And I love all of the very visible reminders that I have so much to be thankful for each and every day.

Today I'm thankful to contribute to Blissful Home for the very first time! I'm so excited to be a part of Blissfully Domestic and to make new friends, so please introduce yourself.

If you read my blog, you know that I love to keep things simple, easy and beautiful. I've been searching for some Thanksgiving decorating ideas and thought I would share some of my favorite finds with you.

This candle display is so beautiful and simple to make with some fabric or scrapbook paper. It would look great on a mantle too.

Be still my heart! I must find this tablecloth. Or make my own with some fabric paint.

Do you still have some mini-pumpkins left over from Halloween? Dig a small hole in the top and use them as candle holders.

My backyard is full of these. What a great idea for a simple, natural placecard! It would work with pinecones too.

You don't need a perfect or immaculate home to add some beauty to your Thanksgiving table. I love my decorations all the more when they're surrounded by the chaos of family and dirty dishes.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Kimba! I spent 2.25 minutes looking at my little leftover pumpkins tonight. I wanted to toss them but I knew my 4-year old would throw a fit. Now we have another project! Thanks. And I love the wrapped candles… Actually I love it all. more more!

  3. Adorable use of mini pumpkins! Too bad mine were nasty by Halloween- I served Pumpkin Bisque in them for that tea party I had. That was fabulous, but I had hoped they'd last longer so I could do a lot of candle holding stuff with them.

I really like the idea of the candles on the mantle. My apartment's 480 sq ft, so no mantle. But I'm going to hang on to this post and, you know, keep dreaming! Great collection, Kimba!

  16. Hi Kimba,
I love your site, and these are great ideas! I have the mini pumpkins left over from halloween and my daughter begged me not to throw them away – now I know what we can do with them! I hope to meet you someday in real life, I am a friend of the Nester. You girls rawk!

  17. I love it aaaaaaallllll! When I was a kid we used to have a sweet gum tree in our yard. I loved playing with those prickly balls, but stepping on one sure did hurt! I've seen a couple of other ideas using them and with this idea it makes me wish I still had one. But my husband would freak. I guess I'll have to steal borrow someone else's.

I didn't mean to harp about the gum balls, because I love all the other ideas, too, especially the Giving Thanks candles and white pumpkin candle holders. I do that with apples at Christmas, and it's just so pretty!

  18. Kimba!

  19. Kimba, lovely article. That table cloth is awesome! I also love the "Giving Thanks" candles. That would be super inexpensive with paper bags even.

  25. How awesome is this??? LOVE your ideas & the pictures are inspiring as well. I have used the Pampered Chef corer to make candle holders in the past. . . but of course, my DH got to the mini pumpkins before I had the chance this year. . .they are MIA. Oh well! See you on your blogs:)
