My daughter and I recently found the book "When I Was A Girl I Dreamed" at the library and we both loved it. My daughter is also crazy about the book "Walter The Farting Dog". It's a little crude, but such a cute story and it makes both her and my husband laugh.

I just finished Marley and Me by John Grogan and my fourth grader is reading the kids' version...Marley, A Dog Like Me. My sixth grade is reading a series of baseball books and the current one is Satch and Me. My youngest is a big fan of the Fancy Nancy books...and truth be told, so am I!

My kids are older, but we're still doing summer reading programs at our library. My oldest daughter has discovered Terry Pratchett books, my son is enjoying "Small Steps" - I think it's the sequel to "Holes," and my younger daughter is reading through the Little House on the Prairie books.

We loved that Max and Ruby book. Very very funny!

We've been regular at the library too. We read about 10 different stories a night, so there are a TON of favorites. Lots of dinosaur books lately. I think that we've checked out every dino book they have at least twice...and Firefighter books also...Here's some of our favorite story-type books though:

The girl who wore snakes- This is the book that convinced all the kids we need to get a pet snake now

The Little House- This one brought my 7 year old son to near tears. He felt so sorry for that little house.

This Land is Your Land- The illustrations in this book by Kathy Jakobsen are so incredible. Fun book to look at.

The Little's Series- My 9 year old daughter's recent favorites

Inside a Barn in the Country- My 4 year old loves this book. We read it many times when it was checked out. Then he would try to read it to us. Very fun!

Crimson Comet was a good one too. And Hula Lullaby
