We live in the South, so when we dream of a white Christmas, well, we're dreaming. Even though snow is rare, that doesn't mean that my kids don't ask for it. Daily.
I thought it would be fun to make our own snow globes this year! It's so easy, my kids did most of the work themselves.
Materials:
- glass jar
- small objects (waterproof ones)
- E6000 waterproof glue
- glitter
- a little imagination
Directions:
Gather clear jars. Plastic are best because snow globes can slip through small hands, but glass jars will work for older children.
Clean the jar, remove all labels and make sure the inside is completely dry.
Collect small Christmas object or favorite toys. My daughter chose a small snow bunny figurine and my son, a Scooby-Doo ornament.

We used E6000 glue (very stinky, but waterproof) and sealed the tiny toy in the bottom of the jar. Let this dry overnight.

Add glitter.
I let my kids do this part. The magic of the glitter seemed to make them forget that it wasn't snowing outside.
Add water to the top of the jar and then glue the lid on.

Shake.

And dream.
