I LOVE my Hosta plant! I don't have a real garden, and my landlord won't let me plant one. (Not that it would matter, our ground is so hard-packed!) So at the moment, it's still fairly small and in my living room in a potter, but it's growing fast! Easy cheesy, and very pretty!!

Sara, try growing them in big pots. Also watch out for slugs and snails who love them. Sluggo is a safe bait-killer. Be sure they get enough water.

I love hostas! I think they are so beautiful but I have always had the worst luck with them. I've planted them at least 3 different times and they haven't done well at all. It must be me because I know plenty of people who have huge ones.

Hostas are great! I don't even rake the dead stuff from the year before away and mine are huge. And they way I got them is a testament to their hardiness: my parents thought they had too many hostas, so they dug up a bunch of them, put them in plastic garbage bags, and drove them the 3+ hours to my house. They've been thriving for years.
