This week, the Gosling's are preparing for a photo shoot for Good Housekeeping. I could not imagine taking that on. I get cold sweats just thinking about setting up our Christmas photos for a family of four, let alone a photo shoot for a major magazine for a family of 10.
The shoot was done at their home for the first phase. The huge group of staff from Good Housekeeping descended on the house. There were production assistants, make up artists, coordinators and photographers to complete this task.
The other thing that came into play was the weather. This shot was for a November edition but was shot in 90 degree weather in the middle of summer. I felt so bad for them hanging on the porch in fall clothing sweating their buns off.
I had to laugh when the kids saw Daddy in the makeup chair. Shouts of "Daddy is a girl" and "Daddy is wearing makeup" rang through the house. It was very amusing.
This was a two-day shoot. One day spent in the Gosling home and the next spent at the studio. I think being inside and cool instead of being outside in the heat made a huge difference in the kids demeanor.
I think the biggest hit was the puppy. It was just what the kids needed to brighten their day and keep the shoot on focus. They were so adorable playing with the little puppy.
I cannot wait until my copy of the November Good Housekeeping comes out so I can see the fruit of their very very hard labor.

LOVE the show and I too felt for them in 90+ weather and long sleeves – plus being all crammed up close together – HEAT WAVE! BTW: Gosselin
