Looking for a great chic flick to take your daughter to this holiday weekend? Grab your favorite American Girl and head to the movies to see Kit Kitteridge: An American Girl, in theaters nationwide on July 2nd.
Kit Kitteridge: An American Girl will not only wholesomely entertain young American girls everywhere (the movie is rated G); its star studded cast and timely message, make it a perfect pick for the whole family. The film stars Emmy nominated Abigail Breslin, of Little Miss Sunshine fame, as Kit Kitteridge, a blond bobbed darling of the depression. Mom and Dad are played by Julia Ormond and Chris O'Donnell; and supporting roles are portrayed by A-list stars such as: Joan Cusack, Stanley Tucci, Jane Krakowski, and Glenne Headly.
The film, based on the American Girl book series, chronicles the life of Kit Kitteridge, a young girl dealing with life during the depression. Though there are many "American girls" in the American Girl collection, the choice to make a major motion picture out of Kit's story was a wise one. As many Americans and their children face tough economic times, Kit's story of happy survival with less will be sure to inspire and uplift viewers everywhere.

I just took my three girls to see this and went with another family. The movie is fabulous and definitely one to own if you are an AG fan like we are.

Good post – I think AG dolls are good quality if expensive. They also have books that help girls cope with growing up.
FYI, my 10 year old daughter reviewed the movie today on our blog – http://www.emilycompanies.com/americandollclothes/2008/07/02/emilys-film-review-kit-kettredge-an-american-girl/
