Do you have an American Girl? I do. One of our very favorite American Girls was brought to the big screen this past year and is now available on DVD – Kit Kittredge.
Kit Kittredge is a clever, resourceful girl facing the Great Depression with spirit and determination.
And now my very favorite website for Lapbook Printables has put together a great (and free) resource for learning all about Kit and her world – The Kit Kittredge Lapbook This resource is geared toward early elementary but could be a great jumping off point for older aged children as well.
Oh wait… did I mention I have a copy of this fantastic family friendly movie to give to one of you? I do!

I have not seen the movie (but my oldest has and LOVES it), based on what I do know with American Girl characters, they rarely want stuff, they usually want to improve some situation. Since Kit lives during the Depression, I am going to say that she would like to see life improve for poor and downtrodden.
Did I mention that my oldest daughter loves this movie?

If Kit were a child today, I'd say she'd want one of those spy kits with fingerprint dust and a periscope. She would then need a laptop to carry around with her and to type up her stories.

Kit seemed like such a selfless girl – I think she'd want her daddy to have a job for Christmas – and the 2 hobo boys to have adequate clothes/shoes – and perhaps she'd craft something for her friend Ruthie??!! Kit had the COOLEST tree/clubhouse, I'm sure she could be resourceful & crafty!!
Great giveaway! I think Kit would love to have a simple leather bound journal and sketch pencils to record all the adventures she has! In fact, we plan on the same for our kids:)

My daughter has the Kit American Girl Doll and loves her. She told me that she wants to keep Kit to give to her own daughter some day. How sweet!

I am not familiar with the movie at all but I would think small things would make her happy – being with her family and maybe a journal to record her thoughts!

I think Kit would appreciate having everyone together for the holidays. Then I think she'd love a book on accomplished American women, a new typewriter ribbon and a new messenger bag to keep all of her newspapers and notes in.
