When I was scanning the homeschool section at the bookstore when I was pregnant with Amelia, I remember seeing a book titled something along the lines of kids today and their dissociation with nature. From what I recall of the book jacket, it discussed the problems with today's youth that had resulted from this dissociation, including health, mental, spiritual, and social problems. Some folks may say it's a stretch, but I definitely agree that most youth (and adults) lack time outdoors. I cannot wait to help Amelia have her own little garden and LEARN hands-on from that! (Among MANY other things!!) Thanks for linking to the other great ideas!
