It used to be that everyone got their fifteen minutes of fame. These days, as fast as things move, it seems like it is closer to about seven and a HALF minutes. Nowhere is this more obvious than American Idol.
Does anyone still remember Sanjaya? From Season 6? Didn't think so. He was the flash-in-the-pan who couldn't sing that well but had er, interesting hair. Still, hair does not a career make. Ask Billy Ray Cyrus. (Yeah, ok, he was reborn as Hannah Montana's daddy, but how long did that take?)
Sanjaya has returned to grace us with his soulful eyes and hip wiggle: he has a new commercial for Nationwide Insurance. He joins the ranks of others such as Fabio, MC Hammer and KFed. He gets points for at least being able to make fun of himself, I suppose. (Do you hear me, Robert Van Winkle?) Sanjaya still can't sing. And now we know he can't really act, either. Maybe the lizard needs help selling car insurance?
