I've been so scattered lately, in lots of aspects of my life, and my poor blog is no exception. This is such a busy time of year, it's easy to let things slide. I've noticed that I've become complacent in my blogging. My more meaningful posts are becoming few and far between amongst the contests and reviews I am trying to catch up on. I'm having fun with these things, don't get me wrong, and my traffic isn't suffering. People love contests. But I feel like I've lost sight of what I enjoy most about blogging. So I've decided to get a jump start on some blogging resolutions for the upcoming New Year.
I will spend time with Google Reader – I've been so busy that I've neglected some of my favorite blogs. I intend to take some time to visit my blogging buddies and comment on posts that move me. Part of what I love about blogging is the community; I know I'll feel more fulfilled when I get back to being a part of that community.
I will give more linky love – I've been pretty low on the linky love lately. I intend to change that by linking to relevant posts when writing my own. It may take a little extra time, but linking to others adds to your blog's content and increases your blog's exposure.
I will focus on my niche - Mommy blogs are known to cover lots of different areas. My blog is no exception, but I do have certain topics that I'm most passionate about such as women's issues, personal development, and parenting. I will make a concerted effort to focus my writing on what makes my blog personal and satisfying to me, which will certainly resonate with my readers as well.
I will remember my friends – Sometimes when we're so very busy, it's easy to get wrapped up in ourselves and our activities. I won't forget the relationships I've built in the blogosphere, and I will continue to write about the good things others are doing in my feature profile series. This is a project that's very important to me, and it deserves proper dedication.
What are your blogging resolutions for the upcoming year? In what ways will you work to improve your blog and to find your place in the blogosphere? Please share your thoughts. I'd love to hear your plans!

Love the idea of blogging resolutions! I share all of yours; it's easy to get complacent blogging.
Here's one I'd add to your list (for me):
Make more of an effort to solicit guest bloggers. Hearing a variety of points of view on a blog makes for an itneresting blog, I think.
Here are my main ones:
-For core readers: Create great, relevant content: news, reviews, giveaways, personal musings & special features; Get site redesigned so that being there is a more pleasant experience
-For sponsors: Be innovative with giveaway contests – really engage readers with their brands
-For other bloggers: Be actively involved in the community – commenting on other blogs, linking to great content, participating in mom blogger panels and discussions, etc.
1. to be develop more of a plan for blogging and less "winging" it.
2. to leave more comments and participate in community more.
3. to look for and create and seize opportunities to expand my readership
I have provide more link-love on my resolution list too! I am also going concentrate on my Google Reader and blog-hop more. I don't spend enough time doing this.
bloggingmom67 – I love that – I want to guest post at other blogs and have folks guest post at mine. Adds variety and is fun!
Kimberly – I love your point about engaging the brands. I need to be more innovative with my contests for sure.
stephaniesmommybrain – I do way too much winging it too! I must work on that.
CaraM – I'll surely see you around the blogosphere, because I blog hopping and commenting is my big resolution.
