This last winter I poured over the seed catalogs dreaming of all the crops i would harvest this summer. I ordered a little bit of everything because I couldn't decide exactly how I was going to plant my garden. I patiently awaited the warmer days when I could finally get my little seed babies into the ground.
Then I became pregnant with our fourth child. The morning sickness and exhaustion were overwhelming. Getting outside and planting a garden were the least of my worries. I was just trying to survive the three boys we already have, age 5 and under. Gone were my visions of baskets of tomatoes and squash.
Finally, around mid summer I started to feel better, so I got some tomatoes and bell peppers that I bought at the store into the ground. We are just now picking bell peppers, but it seems that the tomatoes were doomed from the beginning. There's always next year! I still really wanted to get my hands in the ground though, so I started looking at my options. Aha! A Three Sisters Garden, and still just enough time to get it in the ground and harvest it before the frost sets in! So I got to work….
