Our Three Sisters garden one week after planting the seeds.

I perused the web and found a set up that I thought would work for the piece of land I had to plant. Then I called our local Agriculture Extension and spoke to the Home Garden Advisor to make sure I did still have enough time. My huge pregnant belly and I went outside, distracted three curious little boys with sidewalk chalk and rototilled the spot I wanted, mixing compost, peat moss, dry coffee grounds, and organic fertilizer into the soil.

Then I poked some holes for the seeds and got to work adding innoculant into the holes where the beans and peas would be planted. Since this was a grand experiment in Three Sisters style gardening anyway, I decided to play fast and loose and plant things that I knew my family would eat, whether it was typical Three Sisters fare or not.
