I'm always on the lookout for inexpensive crafts to make, not only with my girls, but that I can also use in their classrooms. I love to plan a fun activity to do with each of the girls classes at least once a month….18 children times 2 classes, once a month, tends to add up! So as I was searching my brain (the internet) for something to do, I came across the many things you can do with a paper plate. Here are just a few that I thought I'd share.

Paper Plate Bumblebee
Materials Needed: A paper plate, yellow & black paint or marker, a piece of wax paper, scissors, tape, & a small triangle of black paper.
Step 1: Paint the plate yellow & let dry. Step 2: With black paint or marker, make the stripes. Step 3: Make a face for your bee…here you can improvise with googly eyes & a small pom-pom, cut outs of small paper or just use the paint or markers. Step 4: With the wax paper, cut out the wings for the bee. I traced the girls hands (fingers together) & then cut out or you can just make a simple 'U' or oval shape. Attach the wings with scotch tape. Step 4: Cut out a small traingle from black paperĀ & tape to the back of the bee for the stinger.
