Coreopsis "Red Shift"

Perennial planting in absolutely awesome in the fall…in fact, I thinkĀ  it is my favorite time to plant them. I know you all have heard this before, so let me just tell you a couple of things, then I will show you the COOL things I am going to plant.

  • Planting in the fall gives perennials time to establish roots and get settled in their new homes
  • In so doing, your plants will look like they have been growing for two years instead of one
  • The weather is amazing in the fall…sunny warm days and cool nights…good for people and plants!
  • Nurseries have sales on perennials in the fall…you can save 50-75 percent off!

  1. All great reasons to plant in the fall! The most important fact is that the roots have the extra time to set in which greatly enhances the plants size next spring.
