A few weeks ago, I took a little walk in San Francisco. I think if you've heard anything about this beautiful city, you would have heard about the massive hills. Oy the HILLS! To get back to my hostel from where I found myself, I had to walk uphill two blocks.
Naturally, as a blogger, I documented the climb. A few steps and a photo, few more steps and a photo, lather, rinse, repeat.

Here are my photos. Not terribly interesting by themselves, but they have a story to tell:

I stood at the bottom and looked up.
Well, CRAP. I stood there for a moment and contemplated finding another way to my destination, but I knew that the only way was up.

I COULD tell you that I took this photo of a grate in a doorway because I found it terribly interesting, but the truth is I needed to catch my breath. ![]()
As I stood there, pretending to set up the shot, a couple passed me by..

I couldn't resist, they were so darn cute. He carried her all the way up.

Panting, and probably quite red in the face, I made it and this is my view from the top. You can see all the way down to the bay.

But, of course, what goes up, must come down. And down…and down…and down.
(sigh) I think I'll sit down for a minute. ![]()
Moral of the post?
Photos make a story come to life!
Next time you're taking a walk, shoot it and see what you come up with. ![]()

Oh…that was cool…I like your style…photo & writing wise.
What a great story – and on a personal note, in the last photo, there is a tallish apartment building on the left hand side – right on the corner. My cousin, Nan lived in that building. She passed away last November and I was just thinking about her today.
Thank you for the memory.
Yeah.. LOVE LOVE your story!
I wasn't "into it" back then.
I can recall doing the exact same thing you did…but I didn't do it with a camera
I think I got a little winded from reading your post. Great job Bri!
