I have plates ALL OVER my house–my husband jokes that if the dishes in the kitchen are all dirty we can just grab one off a wall:) They’re a beautiful and economical way to decorate.
Note to Dot: I can now find plate hangers at Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby for very cheap. I don’t know where you live, but maybe this will help you out.

I’ve been collecting plates for some time, I’m finding the plate hangers are the costly part and can be hard to find in my rural area.

My favorite plates to collect are red transferware, but my bank account says NO WAY. So I’ve been working as a substitute at an antique shop now and then, and with my pay I buy their red transferware. Works out great, but the collecting is slow going.

I never really got into hanging plates until I joined the blogging community. I made some mistakes and know now I was using them too sparsely. I love the “big” impact you make in your dining room and bedroom. That looks marvelous! Rosie

Goodwill is also a great place to find plates. I have done some crafts with plates, and I love all the different kinds of plates that you can find there, usually costing anywhere from $.25 to $2.00, with most around $1.00.
