See It Sista!

I've had a serious God-thang going on the last few weeks, and I'm gonna have to blame Robin, my lovely editor, for the whole darn thing. Or a lot of it anyway.

I went to Robin's blog one day, and she redirected her readers to this video, which is the same thing I'm gonna do. Y'all go watch Brandon, now. I'll be here when you come back. Go on.

Did you watch? Do you promise? 'Cause I want you to see it before I talk about it.

All right. So between Brandon's song, and reading The Shack, and reading my pastor's new book Soul Revolution, there have been a lot of thoughts running around my head. For this post, I'll try to stick to the song; watch my future posts for thoughts on those books.

Incidentally, I bought the album and listened to it for two weeks straight. Boy's got some talent. I'm a "shuffle the iPod" girl, so that's a big statement from me.

The video was stunning to me just because it's something I've done often: I people watch in a crowded place (airport, restaurant, club while a band is playing) and I marvel that each person there is a unique, God-created marvel. I ask Him to show me how He sees them: what their potential is, as opposed to how they appear to me.

Once I saw the video, I remembered that it's been a long time since I prayed for God to show me His point of view on people. Since the song and the album have been my constant companion for the last few weeks, I've renewed that prayer. I've prayed for other drivers in traffic, for pedestrians, for other people waiting in line. That will do interesting things for your patience level.

What about you? What's the most interesting thing God has taught you lately? How did you learn it? Have you learned the same lesson before?

I really want to know!

can I just tell you that I've probably heard that song 100 times but watching the video really touched me! What a great message.

Thank you for drawing it to my attention!

  2. What a great video! Thanks for sharing that, Lisa.

  3. Thanks so much Lisa, I hadnt heard the song before, but I love it. And speaking of 'serious God-thang's, I think you have just joined Him in what He's doing around the world – by what I've seen MyCup2Yours and WeAreTHATFamily are doing to encourage others to live differently, to look out for the needs of others and to give of themselves. They arent my blogs but I'm joining them!

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
