Simple Holiday Decorating

For many, the holidays equals stress, despite our best intentions to start planning early and keep things simple. We may not be able to avoid all holiday stress, but decorating our homes should be fun and easy.

What do you really need to capture that holiday feel?
A welcoming wreath on the door, a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments that both have meaning and appeal, and lots of candles throwing sparkly light around our homes. Throw in a few inexpensive projects that are both fun and easy, and you have the ingredients for some holiday decorative magic!
Case in point: Here are my dining chairs…kind of like one chair, two looks…I ended up choosing the more subdued red and white version, since I have a fair bit of red in the room. I added the sparkly snowballs in keeping with my wintry theme which can extend well into January!

It isn't Christmas without a few nuts around, so I always do this "help-yourself" arrangement: three brown paper bags with the tops folded over, two filled with nuts and the nutcracker, and one left empty to put all the shells in. Easy, but looks good and entices you to snack…which, come to think of it, isn't always a good thing.
