Sleepovers Mean Pop, Candy and Popcorn…Oh My!

Buy Extra Pop, Popcorn and Candy
I
buy extra pop, candy and popcorn for the girls sleepovers.  I put out
bowls of candy, chips and fun food for the girls because that is what
they love to eat with their friends.  I always buy more than I think
the girls can possibly eat and then the girls ALWAYS devour everything
in seconds after I put it out.  I try to get things like Sweet-Tarts and some of the "retro" type of candies, for two reasons.  First, the kids seem to like some things like "coke bottle fizz" candy AND some of these types of candies are not as rich, high calorie.

You can find some very inexpensive "retro cool" candy for kids at NostalgicCandy.com and GroovyCandies.com.

Paper and Plastic are Your Friends
The day
after a sleepover can be scary.  Why make it worse by having a kitchen
full of dishes piled up?  PAPER PRODUCTS are the answer.  Get some
plastic cups for all the girls to drink out of because no one remembers
where they put their glass.  I try writing their names on the cups but I find that 8 girls sleeping over can go through about 25 plastic cups.

Finally, Have the Tylenol Handy
Keep the Tylenol handy…for you.  The
level of noise for a group of girls is so intense that I usually find I
get a headache after the first two hours.  Breathe deeply and take your
Tylenol.

My daughter is about 14 months old. I know I have this to look forward to, someday. I remember all the sleep overs that my twin sister and I had, with all our friends. Now I really appreciate what my parents did.

  2. Why waste the paper? Let the kid who had the sleep-over help with the dishes in the morning. Make the kids stick to one cup the entire evening….it is always a good time to teach responsibility to kids.

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
