I really like playing games. Board games. Card games. Dominoes. Etc, etc! Many of my favorite games are ones that you play with other people however, I’ve never been a huge fan of games like chess or checkers that is between you and another opponent. Maybe I’m just not competitive enough or have the necessary strategic mindset, I’d rather talk and laugh and talk some more!
But now I have a game that I can play with my husband that doesn’t involve checkered boards and miniature royalty. It’s called Stop & Kiss from Lindsay Lou Games, LLC and it’s a card game designed especially for couples. I was so very excited when Lynn Baldwin, the creator of “Stop & Kiss”, sent me a copy of the game to review for Wedded Bliss. What a fun idea!
The concept is simple, a deck of cards in five categories: Complete the Thought, Connection Card, Memorable Moments, Relationship Rev-up and Stop & Kiss. Plus there’s a Wild Card…to be used however you wish. (That’s my personal favorite!) The categories give the players the opportunity to learn more about each, reminisce about special times, make future plans and explore new territories in their relationship.
It’s not a game of wins or losses, strategy or elaborate set-ups, it’s about connection and cohesiveness and love. I really like how the game instructs you to start:
Get into a comfortable environment…in your coziest chairs, on the floor of your favorite room, perhaps even cuddled together in bed. Light a candle. Pour a drink. Get ready to focus on each other and your relationship, free of everyday distractions.
Now you may be thinking, how will I ever get my husband to play this “game”? It’s easy ladies, just ask! You’ll be surprised and I think he will be, too!
Oh, and the stop & kiss part? There are 5 “Stop & Kiss” cards and all you have to do is stop…and kiss.
