After reading about the 7 Day Sex Challenge, I started thinking about the best way to go about it. Not the mechanics but the implementation. Should I tell my husband that I wanted to participate in this challenge? Or should I make it more spontaneous and surprise him by initiating a little fun every day?
I wasn't worried about having to talk him into it but life does get in the way sometimes. We have a 2 year old and a 4 month old so sometimes when weighing X minutes of sex versus X minutes of sleep, sleep wins. I decided I would keep the challenge to myself and see how I could creatively get things going a few extra times this week.
In the spirit of the challenge, I decided to make the conscious effort to flirt a little every day. One way my husband and I flirt is via instant messages or text messages. My husband is a professional tech geek so I guess using technology to flirt was natural in our relationship. Our IM and text flirting started as a joke. We were talking about how men can make anything dirty. They see a woman in the office stapling papers and they say with a slight leer in their voices "I'd like to staple her reports." (Think Joey's "How you doin'?" from Friends for the proper intonation.)
So we started sending IMs or texts turning whatever we were doing into something naughty. I sent him the message "I'd like to cook your macaroni" this afternoon and he responded "I'd like to make your application run faster." For us, it is a fun and flirtatious way to touch base during the day. Now if we can just get the kids to both go to sleep tonight…
