Otherwise the TV is off if the kiddos are awake. We just have way better things to do!! If it is "one of those days" I may put on a show so I can make dinner... PBS recorded on the DVR. Until now his favorites have been Play With Me Sesame on PBS Sprout (Another GREAT no-worry channel) and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and My Friends Tigger and Pooh, both on Disney. You have to be careful about Disney, but these 2 shows are worry-free for me. I don't let him watch a lot of TV, but DVR is a lifesaver when he wants to watch one of his shows and I need 30 min to get something done!
