So get yourself a chain leash, some heavy-duty moisturizer, and cuddle up next to your favorite reptile.
Can't afford your own snake, or just think they're gross as pets? Fine. We'll just have to pay homage to their glorious exterior with patterned fabrics in our accessories, particularly handbags and pumps.
Oh, and I may be the Duchess of Steals (informally and unofficially), as far as fashion goes, not all reptiles are created equal. In no way, shape or form does this mean that Crocs are okay at all.

I forever stand by my claims, while still peacefully respecting those who choose to partake.
Anyway… Snakeskin patterns elicit images of luxury, sophistication, and boldness among admirers and wearers alike – whether they're footing a sleek suit, or doting upon a handbag casually slung on your arm.
The idea is to keep it simple, and not too flashy. Once you start making your crocodile accessories flashy, you start inching your way into the Tacky Zone. No one likes that. Keep the bold colors and crazy cuts limited to the less textured fabrics. The point of snakeskin shoes… is that they're snakeskin.

The image above represents the scope of snakeskin possibilities. Let's get into the nitty gritty…
1. Bagtique's Snake Patterned Hobo Bag – $55
This bag covers not just the snakeskin trend of the fall, but also the patent leather trend, the oversized bag trend, and the stud trend, too, because of the bronze studs near the bottom of the bag! It'll hold everything you could ever need for a day at the office, mall, or wherever the day takes you! The brown color is a nice neutral that'll go with anything from ivory to purple. Plus, at only $55, you can't beat it.
2. Mad By Design Snake Pattern Box Clutch – $47
The "box clutch" may be my new favorite clutch style for this fall. As a call back to the 1920's and 1930's, the structure of this clutch offers a nice contrast to a flowy dress or feminine pieces. Plus, the black and white snake print is subtle enough to mesh with whatever you're wearing, but not so subtle that it goes unnoticed.
3. Two Lips "Bitten" Sandal – $74.95
What a gorgeous sandal, no? Just strappy enough to be extra sexy, but not so strappy that it crosses into the dreaded "tacky" territory. I can see these puppies beneath a black, white, or silver-toned pencil dress, beneath a hot pair of trousers, or underneath some dark wash jeans for a pop of sultry.
4. Soda Scout Snakeskin Ballet Flat – $18
These shoes are what I like to call "easy style". Toss then beneath jeans, bermudas, or an a-line skirt and they'll instantly make you look polished and, most importantly, like you know how to dress yourself with an understated air of "fashionista". Round-toe flats are a staple of any wardrobe because they're easy, they're comfortable, and they're better than flip flops.
* I must note, all of the above products are faux snakeskin. Anything that can unhinge their jaw to eat something twice their size needs to survive the fashion world, because that's flipping amazing.
So next time you've got an outfit that needs just a little kick… Try out some snake patterns accessories to give that je ne sais quoi to your personal style.
xxoo.

Love the FAUX snake skin – great for Vegans too!
Love those box clutches. Their retro look would work really well with the new high-waist pants, which are so 40s themselves.
