'Til Death Do Us Part

Wedding_rings

Carolyn loved Frank. And Frank loved Carolyn. Theirs was an unique pairing. Both widowed in their forties they found each other, fell in love and combined their families into one rather large family. Seven boys, one girl. Together they worked to raise their children, help others, offer hospitality and spread hope. A few months ago, Frank died. Carolyn wasn't in very good health either and last Saturday she serenely passed on surrounded by her family.

What joy to have found love not once but twice! Such beauty in blending two broken families into one strong, supportive family! Such honor to have fulfilled that last vow.

I've known marriages that have survived everything from adultery to loss of a child to chronic illness. But it seems that the one true yet ironic test of whether or not a marriage truly survived is if it can be said, "Til death did they part".

Do you have a Frank and Carolyn in your life? From whom do you draw inspiration when the going gets tough in your marriage. I'd love to hear about it at The League.
