While many of us use Flickr, there are scads of people who still swear by Photobucket. Recently, Photobucket has brought on its own image editing software, hosted by FotoFlexer.com.
This software isn't quite as easy to use as Picnik over at Flickr, but it does have more options with it, including adding text, and stylizing your images.
At this point, I'm merely looking to spiff up my picture a bit. Above my picture, when I open it up, will be a list of options, one of which is "Edit Image."
Once the editing screen opens up, there are any number of options available to you. It may be a bit overwhelming, but if you take the time to go through and figure out each item, it's actually pretty cool.
First, I want to crop the image just a bit, bring it down to focus more on myself. Opening up the crop option brings up something that is very similar to the Photoshop crop tool. It isn't entirely clear, but you're going to want to click and drag your mouse to select an area that you want to crop.
The adjust button is a bit strange. By adjust, it's actually referencing your brightness/contrast and saturation.
The other most frequently used tool you'll need is your sharpen. This one, I had to go hunting a bit before I found. You'll find the sharpen tool under the Beautify tab. It takes a bit of getting used to, and it's not nearly as forgiving as Picnic's is, but it does the job.
Finally, when you're done with your editing, you can either save a copy of the image, or save over your original.
How do you feel about photo hosing websites providing photo editing software?
Do you feel it's more convenient, or less user friendly than using a software program such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro?
