The value of trusted friends to share our daily ups and downs is immeasurable. As women, we need like minded sisters for support, empathy, understanding and connection. One theme in my life and I have shared repeatedly here is the importance of girlfriends in our lives.
However, I feel I should make one caveat. Please be very careful with whom you share. The League is a wonderful place because it is by-invitation-only and inaccessible to the rest of the world. The women there are loving and 100% supportive. (If not, they are asked to leave very quickly!) In your daily life, pick your closest girlfriends carefully. Having one or two close friends with whom you can pour out your heart is a blessing.
Sometimes we can share only when we are angry, hurt or frustrated with our husbands. Many times we share to much to the wrong people. This can not only give others a negative overall impression of your husband because we tend to not share the daily joys of married life. Of course, we may accidentally share to Betty-Busy-Body who wants to gossip about you to all your mutual friends. Oh, the horrors!
Remember ladies, choose wisely with whom you share. Value, nourish and love the wonderful women friends in your life because loving, genuine women friends are a priceless treasure.
