Hands of Hope's tagline is "A Charity of Women Helping Women A World Away" perfectly describes who they are and what they do. Based in the Chicago area, this group helps mobilize communities to respond to the needs of women and children around the world. They also seek to raise awareness regarding poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa and its global relevance.

Having recently been moved to write about Africa on my personal blog, I find myself looking for ways to minister to this impoverished, war-torn, resource-needy land. What children–and adults–endure is beyond imagination. This looks like a marvelous way to invest just a little, to be "fish & loaves"-multiplied well beyond the few dollars it costs.
