I believe that is very much the case when it comes to marriage or even just relationships in general. I liked your article very much, but I have to say those "rules" are more easily said than followed. If you don't have honesty and trust in your relationship, how can you have it in your finances? The problem is a decision has to be made, whether it's what bill needs to be paid or when we can afford to go out to dinner or even how much can be spent at the grocery store. When that decision has to be made and the two of you can't agree, then what? I love my wife and I think she is great with money, when we have it, but when we are broke she's not the best at being frugal. Then again it could be just that I am an expert at it! I don't believe you should spend money that you don't have and believe that it will come back to you later. He does the opposite.
