The government does not regulate the label “organic” on food. Anything can say “organic”, even if it’s a gallon of pesticide. 100% organic, organic, organic ingredients, natural, it’s all the same.

I don’t remember where I read it (or else I’d give them credit), but I recently read something about if you’re trying to go organic but are on a budget. They said to skip the organic items with peels (oranges, bananas, etc.) b/c you peel off the part that would have residue.

This made me giggle, only because every time I have been picking anything from my garden to give to my Mom (it’s only been strawberries and lettuce so far in the season), I keep saying things like, “Would you like some of my organic lettuce? How much do you think this would cost at the store?” LOL
