I wish I could tell you who the photographer was that put a link to Shootsac on her site. The quote went something like this "All I need in my life is my camera and my Shootsac."
I clicked.
Up until that click all I needed in my life was my camera. Until I saw the Shootsac. It's as if the lens switching Gods had opened up the clouds of DLSR heaven and blessed me with an answer to my shooting dilemma.
My name is Casey, and I am a rapid lens switcher.
WIDE! LONG! 1.4! FAR! 17! 300! 50! MACRO!
While I do love my Slingshot 200, it can be a little cumbersome for a dirty lens switcher like me. Unlike my mom, I have yet to perfect the crook-of-arm hold-push-switch maneuver. My husband swears someday I'm going to drop one of my lenses to its doom. (Shh, he was probably right.)
The Shootsac allows me to carry all my lenses, with a quarter the bulk and twice the comfort. I can reach in, unscrew a dust cap, switch it to the lens I'm taking off, drop it in the Shootsac and pull out the new lens. A complete, smooth switcharoo I could never perform with my Slingshot!
For those of you who have already clicked over to the Shootsac site and are wondering, what the what? Let me explain.
There are six separate deep pockets, three in the front covered by the customizable cover (it comes with a plain black one, but oh! the customizable covers are really well made, so sturdy! and pretty!) There are also three pockets in the back with snaps to keep them closed. All six are perfect for batteries, cards, a wallet, or if you're anything like a me, a point and shoot just in case.
It's made out of neoprene (think wetsuit) and really does hug you close and provides reliable protection for your lenses.
And hello? IT'S CUTE.
Now the price tag. Yes. It may seem a little high for what it looks like. But that's just it. It doesn't scream "HELLO! I'M THE PHOTOGRAPHER!" or "HELLO! I'M A TOURIST!"
Instead it screams "I TAKE MY PHOTOGRAPHY SERIOUSLY AND WANT TO LOOK GOOD DOING IT!" but gives your lenses much needed reliable protection that no other cute bag could ever offer.
(C'mon, you know you've shoved a lens in your purse before, last time I did it came out with Goldfish cracker crumbs on it.) If you are a chronic lens switcher, and don't need much else, especially if you use only natural light, the Shootsac really will change the way you shoot.

Casey is a photographer and momma, among other things. When she's not shoving Oreos in her face, she's writing over at Moosh in Indy.

This is one of those things on my "definitely" list as I look into the future of my Photography Journey.
The designs make me grin like a goof.
oooooh… They're so pretty. I really really really like pretty.
Oh my heaven…simply gorgeous!
holy moly this thing is awesome!!!!
Such a cute bag. I have never seen anything like it. And I am certain I would use it even not just for shooting!
How nice of them to give us a discount!
those things are SO COOL LOOKING!
Wow, iron your pants much Casey?
Go get a shootsac.
Oh I'd absolutely LOVE this, I've been drooling over them for months!
oh my gosh! I DO want a Shootsac. At that price, it's gonna be a while (or Santa's gonna have to get a raise). Those are absolutely darling. Bookmarking for the day our ship finally comes in . . .
Agree. I love my Slingshot 200 for hiking excursions. But for trips around town, this looks GREAT. Thanks for the review.
I do want one! (even with 15% off, it seems awfully pricey!) Guess I'll have to add it to my Christmas Wish List!
Thank you so much for the discount code! My sister has been DROOLING over this bag, and the discount made it slightly more affordable for me to get it for her. She's going to love it.
I NEED one of these!!!!!!!
