My kids and I have been hitting the pool a ton in the past two weeks, and even though I use sunscreen, my skin is feeling fried! I haven't been taking care of it nearly as well as I should after a day in the sun. So here are some tips for post-sun care I'm determined to follow, and I hope you do too!
1) Cleanse – chlorine from the pol, sunscreen, and salt from the beach all need to be washed off. Since these things are also drying, use a moisturizing body wash instead of a drying deodorant soap. I really like SoftSoap's moisturizing body butter body wash – I'm using the Apricot scrub now and it's moisturizes, exfoliates and smells great!

2) Moisturize moisturize moisturize! You've got to replenishthe moisture the sun took away from your skin. Since my skin tends to be dry even before I spend time in the sun, I like to give it a little extra moisturization with Palmer's Cocoa Butter Skin Therapy Oil. It is the BEST, and so good for your skin. For my face, I love Mary Kay's after-sun replenishing gel. It really does leave my skin feeling refreshed!
3) Soothe – if you have any burn at all, you'll want to apply a nice soothing product. There are plenty of sunburn soothing products on the market, but I think good old aloe vera works great for most sun burn.
Have fun in the sun and take care of your skin this summer!
