Clorox Green Works(TM) Wipes

Dear Product Developers and Marketers at Clorox:

I love your Clorox Wipes so much I could marry them if it weren't illegal in most states. (Clearly the wipes are female because of how hard they work and how good they smell.)

green living Clorox Green Works(TM) WipesThis weekend I was shopping at Big Box Store and noticed you had a new line of "Green Works" Wipes. Neutral smelling and biodegradable. I chose to pay MORE for LESS product because of the "eco friendly" aspect of these disposable wipes. Even while scoffing at my own green washing of actually feeling BETTER about buying something meant to be thrown away just because it would break down faster in ye olde landfill.

I can attest to the fact that these wipes do indeed biodegrade. They have biodegraded all over my black refrigerator, stove, cabinet and sink. My kitchen now looks like a white muppet exploded in it. And not just because my kid poured dishwashing detergent all over the floor while I was writing you this letter.

Completely irritated and dissatisfied customer,

Dawn

  1. And sadly the Green Works products aren't even eco-friendly.. They are green washed.

Method makes some great wipes that are truly eco-friendly and work well.

Huh. I used some last week and really liked them. I was impressed that they didn't leave streaks on my black stove. I'm going to have to test drive them again!

  3. What a bummer Dawn. Sorry to hear that. I am with you when it comes to loving wipes! I use them a lot. I switched to Method wipes a while ago and I love them! Most Target stores carry them. I would highly recommend them.

The Corox Green Works aren't really "Eco-friendly"… study study study the labels, and do some research. Thats what I think is sad, that so many things say "natural" or "green", causing people to think they are making a wise choice.. but it doesn't mean that it really is. Melaleuca.com has great eco-friendly products (what I personally use on a regular basis), as well as Method and Seventh Generation products. Hope this helps! :)

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
