Cloudy with a chance of being better than the book…

family Cloudy with a chance of being better than the book...

Growing up I would read "Where the Wild Things Arefamily Cloudy with a chance of being better than the book...," "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballsfamily Cloudy with a chance of being better than the book...," "The Velveteen Rabbitfamily Cloudy with a chance of being better than the book...," and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia)family Cloudy with a chance of being better than the book...." It was the only way that we could enjoy the stories. Today's children can listen to the stories on CD, rent the DVD or just download the movie to their iPods.

It would be wonderful if kids still had to read the stories, but I love seeing so many movies come out that are based on great children's stories. However, the movies do not replace the need to read these great books. I often feel the movie loses so much of the magic the books so beautifully create. The exception to that is "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."

The book was an enjoyable bedtime story.

The book was a sweet story told by a grandpa.

The book was just for fun.

We took our girls to see this movie and I was pleasantly surprised.  It was a movie that encouraged, taught love, and helped you believe.  It had a reason and a message to share.

What did the movie make me believe?

  • Our children can believe in their dreams.
  • Our children must believe in themselves.
  • We must believe that at times the language of love is softly spoken.
  • We can believe that we all have a purpose.

If you haven't had a chance to see this movie, run and see it. This is a movie that a child can see over and over again. The book? Read it before bed and have sweet dreams.
