I walked into a friend's house the other day and she said, "Look what I did!".
She lead me up the stairs to a small landing at the top that overlooks the great room. It is an odd-shaped space that most people would have ignored. Instead of cluttering the area with a faux-plant, she created this:

A family computer area.
She started with an inexpensive folding desk from IKEA. The desk hangs so if there was a time that more space was needed in this hall area, she could remove the computer and let the desk fall flush with the low wall. The lack of legs also saves hall floor space.
She then used Modge Podge to decoupage some fun magazine clippings onto the top of the desk:

She chose pictures and text that appealed to her creating a personalized, one-of-a-kind space for her family.

I've got to get one of those hanging desks – it'd be ideal in my tiny apartment!
Wow…that's fantastic! I didn't know Ikea carried those…and what a great idea to Mod Podge it. I know what I'm doing in my kitchen now, to get a little more counter space along a blank wall!
What a cute idea. I could really use one of those desk for a folding table in my laundry room

That's really cool!
