Easy Stain-Removal Keeps Clothes Stylish

fashion and style Easy Stain Removal Keeps Clothes Stylish

Six years ago I made a great discovery in an Ann Taylor store at a mall in Attleboro, Massachusetts.

I was trying on a black tank dress for my in-laws 30th wedding anniversary party. Truth be told, I was trying on about 5 dresses! The black tank dress was not my favorite – by far. It just didn't fit right and it looked like I was trying to (literally) squish myself into it. I couldn't even get it off! I eventually had to do a gymnastic-something-or-other move to shimmy it off my body. When it finally came off – I was relieved and then horrified.

In my quest to get the dress off — I had left about 8 deodorant stains all over it! Since the dress was black, the stains were like little neon-sign marks all over it! I was so embarrassed, especially since the saleswoman was there in the dressing room with me.

The only thing I could do was come "clean." I apologized profusely and told her I would buy the dress. She was appreciative of my gesture, but smiled at me and said, "You don't know about wet wipes, huh?"

(This was 2 years before I had my first son. The only "wet wipes" I knew about was the container my sister-in-law would carry around to change my niece's diaper. That was their use, right?)

The saleswoman went into the backroom and came out with some wet wipes, she wiped right over the first stain — and gone! The second — gone! And the third, fourth all the way to eighth — gone!

Don't believe me?

I use wet wipes now for everything and anything! Formula? Gone. Baby food? Gone. Ice cream? Gone. Got stains? Use wet wipes. I have used them on every kind of fabric – wool, cotton, cashmere, spandex, denim… they work on everything!

So next time you're faced with a stain on your gorgeous new outfit… or just one of your favorite sweaters — wet wipe it away! It's fast. It's easy. And it will save your clothing!

I've been using wet wipes for years! The little individually packaged ones are great to keep in your handbag for those little stain emergencies!!

Ahah! Now this is usual. As a 23 year old mum of none, I am in the same boat you were before having your son – wet wipes have OTHER uses? Fabulous post!

Thanks for sharing this. I never would have known! I'm years away from having kids and needing wet wipes for the typical sense, but next time I'm at Target I'll be picking some up. :)

Will you see the new Twilight movie New Moon on Friday?
