Last week, I shared some great boredom busters for big kids.
The littler guys get bored, too. I am always on the lookout for toys to prevent boredom in my 2-year-old. Waiting in line, sitting in restaurants, car trips, and other down times prevent a real challenge for us, but the toys and games below can offer a welcome distraction.
Below are four shops that feature different types of toys. I hope you enjoy!
Quilting Cafe

Is this the coolest tic-tac-toe board you ever saw? It's a mini quilt, suitable for a newborn for visual stimulation, but also great for older kids who need a distraction. The little squares can be used for matching, and each one is backed with an X or an O for tic-tac-toe.
Check out Quilting Cafe for different variations on this idea. I think this would be great for restaurants.
The Crafting Corner

I bought one of The Crafting Corner's I Spy bags for my toddler's birthday this past week. She loved it. How could she not?
When you smoosh the bag around, dozens of tiny objects pass by the window. The label on the back of the bag tells you what to look for, and you could spend an hour looking for all of them.
The Crafting Corner sells I Spy bags in all sorts of different themes.
Shelley Wallace Designs

I've never tried to play an organized game with my 2-year-old, but I think it's about time to start. This plush Go Fish set would be a terrific way to introduce rules and taking turns in a fun way. Plus, she could sit quietly and organize the pieces while we're out.
Knot Sew Shabby

Before I started perusing Etsy, I'd never heard of a Quiet Book. I've seen lots of them on Etsy, some elaborate, and some simple, but they're all wonderful.
This one will keep your tot busy (and quiet!) with zippers, buttons, snaps, fish to catch, laces and about ten other activities.
I hope you enjoyed this week's picks. If you see an item or shop that you'd like to see featured, please drop me a line!
