family Family Friendly Travel

In these cold, dreary days of February, there is nothing better than fantasizing about upcoming family vacations to the beach, to the lake, to any place sunny and warm.  But for many, family travel is often stressful and more work than it is worth. While there is something magical about focusing only on creating a wonderful trip for our children, there is something undeniably necessary about finding a break for ourselves.

Fortunately, there are many hotels and resorts that support this notion of "adult time" not by providing just a place for children and teens to be dropped off, but by catering to young and older children alike with fun and exciting activities that enhance their experience while giving parents some time to explore the area around the resort sans the children.

One hotel and resort chain that does this particularly well is the Ritz-Carlton.  Are you ready for some fun in the sun NOW?  Check out The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, which offers to unique and fantastic activity tracks for kids and teens.  The AquaNuts program takes kids on a similated "underwater" adventure in what is aptly referred to as "edutainment."

Children ages 5 to 12 years old can enjoy rock climbing walls, a Sandcastle Theater, Mac computers and gaming consoles, and even conduct scientific experiments in the AquaNuts Laboratory!  And for the older kids, there is the Coast, where teens can hang out in the "urban tree house," with its interactive recording studio and DJ booth, gaming station, pool tables, and after dinner dance blus and movies!

The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, provides an incredibly unique experience for children through their partnership with Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ambassadors of the Environment program, an educational program dedicated to engaging people of all ages with the natural and cultural environment.
